A $40 million contract to build structural components for Bombardier Aerospace will see the creation of 30 aviation jobs the Quebec-based operations of Avior Integrated Products Inc.
The jobs will be created in the company’s Laval and Granby factories in the province, and will see the manufacture of parts that will be able to be used in a range of the brand’s aircrafts, including the Challenger, CSeries, Global, Learjet 85 and NextGen airplanes.
Following the announcement of the news, Avior’s president and chief executive, Stephen Kearns, said, “We are very excited about the award of this new work and the impact it will have in establishing Avior as a Quebec-based integrator of aerospace metal and composite structures.”
He said that the long-standing relationship with Bombardier had played a crucial role in the development of the company, and they were looking forward building on that relationship well into the next decade and beyond.
The news of the Quebec jobs came soon after an announcement that the Colorado-based Woodward, Inc had also won a contract with Bombardier to supply it with a number of components for the CSeries aircraft, prompting the creation of an unspecified number of assembly and maintenance jobs.
